Focus 5 - Investigating the role of neutrophil extracellular traps in respiratory disease
Inflammation and pulmonary neutrophilia are known to be hallmark features of chronic respiratory conditions. Neutrophils can undergo 'NETosis' to release extracellular traps (NETs), which may have protective and detrimental roles. This project focuses on investigating the pathological role played by NETs in virus-induced exacerbations of chronic lung disease.
